WARNING:

This product is "End-Of-Life" and offered at a discount until inventory is exhausted - The special short 1/4"BSPP to 1/2" barb fittings described below are no longer available; as as result, the radiator can no longer be stacked. The product is shipped with a set of chrome plated plugs to obstruct one set of inlet/outlets, and can thus be used as a conventional 120mm radiator.

Introduction

The MCR320-QP (Quiet Power) is an extreme-duty liquid-to-air heat exchanger designed to be used with three 120mm fans, and specifically engineered for high-end liquid cooled Personal Computers. The Quiet Power technology is the result of months of research and development focused on optimizing thermal performance and audible noise characteristics with low to medium airflow types of fans.

The MCR320 -QP series heat exchangers have been engineered to meet today's PC industry highest thermal loads, quality standards, and low noise requirements at competitive prices.

The product is available in three versions:
  • MCR320-QP: The "classic" form factor features inlet and outlet ports located at the top of the radiator
  • MCR320-Res: The upper plenum serves as a reservoir and features a fill-port; inlet and outlet ports are located at the bottom of the radiator
  • MCR320-QP Stackable: using the "classic" body, the upper plenums feature two inlet and outlet ports opposite to each other, thus allowing to stack radiators together. This the perfect upgrade for existing owners of MRC320-QP radiators in search of Extreme performance. Key to the feasibility of this series, we also developped the ultra-short 1/2" barbs that are necessary to link the radiators. Four of these fittings are included with the MCR320-QP-STACK.

The new 1-4"BSPP to 1/2" Barb Short fitting enables the linking of two radiators with a 120mm fan in between

Single and dual 120mm versions of the MCR320-QP are also available.

Features and Benefits

High Performance Low noise
Triple 120mm fan form factor triple the surface area available for convection of the heat into the air compared to single 120mm fan designs. The Quiet Power design yields superior performance at low noise levels compared to competing products in the same class. Optimized for 120mm fans with low to medium air output.
The added heat dissipation capacity enables multiple high-end devices (multi-core CPU's, and SLI systems) to run highly overclocked at the lowest possible noise levels.
Flat brass tubes and copper louvered fins, with brass plenum chambers and frame construction, for optimum thermal conductivity.    Fin density optimized to reduce air noise
Flat frame surface provides optimum seal to the fans Built-in plenum chamber

Convenience, Reliability, Quality, Competitive Prices

  • 1/4" NPSM threaded hubs (BSPP and G1/4 compatible) for maximum compatibility with various tubing installations
  • Patent-pending Self purging plenum chambers design: when installed upright or on its side, air cannot accumulate in the plenum chambers
  • Threaded fan and case mounting holes for quick and repeated installations
  • Slim design to facilitate installation, and reduce bulk
  • No oxidation over time (compared to aluminum radiators)
  • Beautiful and durable gloss acrylic paint finish
  • Competitive pricing with same class radiators (single row, 2 pass)
  • ROHS compliant
Installation Guidelines

The MCR320-QP can be installed using Swiftech's MCB120 "Radbox".

Radiator possible orientations:

MCR320-QP-Stack

  • Vertical (inlet/outlet at top) : yes
  • Vertical (upside-down): possible, but not recommended due to accumulation of air over time; we recommend using the MCR320-Res instead
  • On the side: yes
  • Horizontal (either face): yes
Performance Curves - MCR320 triple compared to MCR220 dual 120mm radiator

mcr320_PD_vs_FR
It can be observed that the pressure drop is marginally higher than that of the MCR220-QP

mcr320_HD_vs_FR

The MCR320-QP shows a 50% higher heat dissipation capacity than that of the MCR220-QP. Under the test conditions this indicates that the MCR320 can dissipate in excess of 400 Watts while maintaining a 10 °C temperature differential between the coolant and the ambient air.

mcr320_TR_vs_FR
The improvement is of the order of 1 °C per 100 Watts dissipated across the range of tested flow rates.
