Effective 11/15/2011 The Komodo receives a new look (new sticker graphics) - Block design and other functionalities remain unchanged.
The Komodo™ HD6900 is a true full cover waterblock for AMD® Radeon™ HD 6970 and HD 6950 2Gb reference boards (*). The coolant flow path includes all critical components including GPU, memory and power mosfets.
The product is available in two versions compatible with both PCB revisions of the Radeon™ HD 6970 under the following part numbers:

1. Radeon™ HD 6970 - Reference designs
How to recognize an AMD® reference design? Any AMD® designed PCB should have a part number that starts with 102 (ie 102-xxxxx-xx).
There are two PCB versions for the Radeon™ HD 6970 reference design as shown below (click on picture to enlarge):

Differences affecting the design of the Komodo™ cooling solution are:
The Main body of the Komodo™ HD 6900 is compatible with both revisions; two removable VR plates are available to fit the power component areas. An adjustable standoff provides compatibility with both cards.
Two versions of the waterblock are offered to provide compatibility with these cards, and the corresponding VR plates are also available for sale separately for upgrade purposes; part numbers are Komodo™ HD6900 for the initial PCB release, and Komodo™ HD6900-2 for the new PCB revision.

Critical information:
The PCB revision numbers noted below represent the deciding factor to go by when selecting your Swiftech product,
rather than the brand and/or model number of the card.
Please carefully inspect your card to locate the PCB revision number. All brands using AMD reference PCB's normally
print this number on the card. It is usually located immediately above the gold PCI contacts (GPU side of the board).
Here is an example showing a PCB number 109-C20547 (the -00P at the end can be ignored)
Caution: 1 digit may make the difference between supported or not supported!

CrossFire or SLI recommended installation configuration:
When multiple VGA water-blocks are present in a loop, whether it is for SLI or CrossFire, we always recommend installing the VGA waterblocks in a parallel flow configuration as shown below, as opposed to a serial flow configuration (see this
example of serial to compare). This will substantially reduce the flow restriction in the entire loop with little measurable effect on thermal cooling performance of the Komodo™ waterblocks because these blocks feature a highly efficient heat dissipation design at even moderate flow rates (Swiftech's thin pin matrix).
